Ken has also gone through many different looks, from the faux-pas of felt hair (which - poor Ken! - fell off the moment it got wet), to plastic hair in the 80s, to synthetic hair today. Ken's most recent big revamp took place during his two year split with Barbie (2004-2006).

How Do Dolls Influence Little Girls?
Barbie became a teacher, an astronaut, a doctor, making everyone think that dolls are meant to be teaching little girls and influencing them. As if dolls are educational and sends good messages to little girls. If Barbie never existed and Bratz showed up. You think that people would say "Oh, I hate Bratz, they are bad influence for little girls."? or is it simply because of the way Bratz dress? It's kinda confusing.
In my opinion, I think that girls are being pressured into becoming a doctor by a Barbie doll, when little girls look at a doctor Barbie, they think that being a doctor is the only way to become successful, where as Bratz let you be whorever you want to be. Bratz let you be yourself through fashion. Now, if Bratz let you be whorever you want to be, then that's sending a good message. Right?
Hmm, maybe dolls are meant to be educational. But do little girls understand the way these dolls are dress, and the message that these dolls are sending them?
I'm confused.
Dolls influence a girl because when a little girl looks at a doll she usually thinks "Oh she's so pretty, I want to look just like her." I personally think that dolls mostly only influence girls in the way the want to look, not in what they want to do. I'm sorry but I disagree that Barbie is influencing girls to become doctors. Most of the time when you see Barbie she's raising a family, or just wearing some pink dress or something like that. The same goes for Bratz though, they aren't influencing girls to go into the fashion industry or anything as much as they are to just kind of look like them. If I had to have my pick between a Bratz or a Barbie for young girls I would pick a Bratz. While it is not good that their skirts show their butt, and all their clothes are super short they vary in their looks. Most Barbies have blonde hair and blue eyes, while all the Bratz dolls are about equally popular and each have a totally different look.
