Off-Road List, Go Ready
Although there is a great deal of buzz out there regarding international made cars, in my feeling, they merely don't contain the comparable soul as old American automobiles. Yes, there are a good bunch of foreign autos that can go faster, and last longer than alot of American autos, but none of them have the grace and looks of a Viper or a camaro. Those American muscle autos are the stuff that the dreams of generations were shaped by, with their speed, their power, their luxuriousness, and their red-hot styling. Long ahead of the times of the small and efficient rice burners, highway hogging, gas gulping American autos really dominated the whole world, as the American conglomerate did.
Of course, in numerous ways those years are past, and I guess that it is accurate that they will not come ever again. Chrysler got took over by Daimler Benz, and the other American auto companies do alot of their manufacturing internationally that it's a big difficulty to even consider their cars as American. Sure, they are American companies in the sense that they began here, but in fact they are nowadays multi-national corps that feel no feel of national loyalty at all, and are only in it to make cash. Nonetheless, despite the cut backs and the layoffs, and all of that, some of the spirit of American autos still persists on the highways nowadays.
Look around you next time you are out, and you are certain to see a couple of antique autos. Nonetheless, they are unluckily going by the wayside, and being replaced with modern-day knock offs of the old automobiles. Take a look at the current Camaro, Mustang, Charger all of them have recently been redesigned by their manufacturers in order to bring more "classic styling" to them. Certainly they seem decent, but it is just not the same as experiencing a authentic example of American steel to make the tires squeal and not beg for forgiveness.
In my opinion, if you are a fan of American sports automobiles, you should not purchase the computer commanded, excessively slick autos of now, but get one of the more classy automobiles of yesteryear. The 1950s, and to an extent, the sixties were where it was at as far as American cars was concerned. That was the age of the stout steel chassis that would hold together like nobody's business, of the big, stout strong American automobiles that could stand up to years and years of misuse. That was a long time before the travesty of unibody manufacturing kicked in, when men were men, and American automobiles were autos. Maybe those times are past, but the cars from those years – at least many of them – are currently on the road nowadays, and several of them can be bought by any reasonably better off collectors. There's nothing better than the thunder of an old, decked out v-8 motor under the bonnet of one of the older American cars, and that is no lie.
