Is being a fashion designer a smart thing to do in the present economic climate?
I'm a junior in high school and I'll be a junior in college when i graduate high school because I'm in this program my school offers. Anyway, I love design, i probably could draw good stick figures before i ever learn to write...i like making clothes, knitting, crocheting, i just love drawing apparel. I would LOVE to be a fashion designer, but that career is "chance-y--"I'd have to move to the big city and be an intern, and i wouldn't mind that job, but things seem to always be unsure unless you become a big time designer.
My gut is also telling me to become a teacher---after all, there's always a need for teachers, esp. in Texas (where i live), and I love English, writing, and grammar. (My sister was never able to pass the English section on our state standardized tests for years, and when I tutored her, she finally passed.) And their salaries are fair, about 40K a year. Not super rich, but not that bad,
So please help me decide!!
You could attempt to teach fashion. By the time that you graduate hopefully we will be out of the recession so that will not be a factor./
