Tips on Designing an Insulated Dog House

I have got nail pops all over my house, what is best way to fix them?
I have seen many videos...Should I pound the nail back in deeper into stud or pull it out all together and put a screw on each side where nail was in stud?
and can I use premix mud without water to cover or do I still add some water to it? I also have to match texture ceiling. I have one of those brushes....This isn't popcorn crap, it is fancy texture.
i would also recommend removing the nails. Put in screws and fix the hole with joint compound. The neater you are in removing the nails the easier it will be to fix the holes.
