Blythe Littlest Pet Shop?

I've known about blythes, pullips, hujoos, little fee, dal, etc ( japanese ball jointed dolls ) for a while now and got my own first hujoo in august, and now im seeing blythe littlest pet shops?!!!?? What on earth is this? are they even real blythes or is america once again stealing something from another culture and calling it thier own? If I were to buy a LPS Blythe would i be able to customize her at all? What are they like, and are they authentic? Please Help!

The only one that you listed that is considered an Asian Ball-jointed Doll (BJD ) is LittleFee, and I guess Hujoo but Hujo is plastic so sort of a cheap copy. Also only two BJD companies are Japanese - Volks who invented BJDs and Alchemic Labo (sculptor Gentaro Araki and his Unoa BJDs). Most of the other BJD companies are South Korean and some of the cheaper companies are Chinese.

As far as I know the other dolls you listed are not ball jointed at all though some sellers like to call them that. They are just jointed and on a flexible armature. A real Asian BJD is poured in resin (not mass-produced vinyl or plastic) and consists of all separate pieces ending with ball or concave socket, all held together by elastic.

Sorry - I don;t know about Blythe. Just wanted to straighten out the BJD part.
