The West Coast Dolls House And Miniature Show Excites Miniaturists Every June
The rising popularity of dollhouses and miniatures has led to lots of shows being held around the world that are related to the hobby. One of the most popular yearly events is the West Coast Dolls House and Miniature Show. This takes place in Langley, British Columbia, Canada and is held on the second Sunday of June. This craft show is aimed at showcasing the work of various skilled miniaturists in a variety of scales. This show attracts enthusiasts and retailers from all over North America and various parts of the world.
The show is ideal for anybody who is interested in miniatures. This includes children, beginners, and pros. The event lasts for two days and it is designed to provide collectors a location and chance to buy the items they are looking for. It also gives newcomers to the hobby a place to learn the ins and outs of the trade.
The opening day of the event is focused on holding a series of workshops and the second day features the show and the sale. During sale and show event, collectors have the opportunity to buy a variety of miniatures in different scales that should help them add to their growing collections. If any of the enthusiasts would like to learn the basics of building their own items, then they should take the time to check out the workshops that are available. During the workshops, visitors can pick from a variety of classes to attend. These will help teach them about different projects that are related to the art of miniature housekeeping. The workshop events usually change each year and dollhouse enthusiasts can generally learn a variety of things. These include:
Felted animals
These are ideal for collectors who would like to add realistic-looking pets to their collections. The workshop instructors can teach people how to create a variety of animals such as dogs, cats, raccoons, along with many others.
Character dolls
While dolls are available for purchase, many people like to construct their own miniature people and fill their dollhouses with them. Some classes will teach hobbyists how to build real life dolls without having to use any moulds.
Clothing
Period clothing can be regarded as an important aspect of miniatures as it keeps the era of the display realistic. However, many people do not know the basics of sewing the various items of clothing. The workshop series can teach them how to craft finished articles of clothing by using just a bottle of glue.
Electricity
Most miniaturists like to add lighting to their displays by running an electrical system in their dollhouses. This makes them more realistic and they can learn the basics at a workshop.
There are also other lessons that will show people how to construct their own articles of furniture and decorations etc.
The workshop event is definitely one of the highlights of the show, but many people attend just for the sale and show portion of the event. During this period, miniaturists are able to show their creations as well as sell them. This allows many collectors the chance to furnish their houses from cellar to roof if they wish.
The yearly West Coast Dolls House and Miniature Show is an ideal event for miniaturists to share their passionate ideas and shop every June.

what is the monetary value of this Saucy Walker doll?
This doll turns her head side to side when walking. She cries mama, has blue sleep eyes, two teeth and red felt tongue showing from slightly open mouth, woven red hair in two short braids. Her dress is red white candy stripe, with a white pinafore. She has white bobby socks and red mary janes. Produced by Ideal in 1950-1953.( Condition good.)
Saucy Walkers are nice hard plastic dolls, it sounds like she may be all original condition, hopefully she is marked there were several factories that made dolls like her the way you tell the difference it but the speaker box on her chest area they all have different designs of the hole patterns.
They are values in dollars by the height of the doll and from my blue book of doll values here is the list
16-17 inches 135.00 to 165.00
20-22 inches 185.00 to 225.00

Hope this helps
