The Land of the Long White Cloud
The Past: The first people of Aotearoa
Before the time of European discovery, another group of travellers arrived on the shores of Aotearoa. They were originally from the island of "Hawaiki" (a mythical homeland in tropical Polynesia). These travellers upon arriving in New Zealand, had easy access to food and shelter in the form of the great Moa (huge flightless bird) and the beautiful Kauri trees. Unfortunately, over time, food grew scarce and the Maori became fierce fighters and great warriors. This is when Europeans began to discover Polynesia and Aotearoa, otherwise known as New Zealand, was first discovered by Europeans in 1642 by Abel Tasman.
European Arrival
Maori struggles began after the arrival of Europeans and in February of 1840, the Treaty of Waitangi was drawn up between some Maori Iwi and the Queen. Due to differences in language and intention, there has been many disputes of exactly what the Maori chiefs were signing. These disputes still exist today. With increasing European influence, Maori culture, language and customs began to decline. However, from the 1970s onwards there has been a revival in Maori language, culture and art.
Aotearoa Today
Aotearoa is very proud of its culture and heritage. Some common distinctions from the rest of polynesia would be the impressive haka or challenge that male warriors give to their enemies. It is seen at an international scale at the beginning of every All Black's game. Kapa haka, involves a variety of styles of Maori singing and dancing which come in a specific order. Most cultural events for the Maori take place on the Marae which is a sacred space as well as a gathering place of their Iwi or "tribe".
Maori people are very skillful carvers, weavers, jewellers and artists and they create beautiful bone, greenstone (jade) and wood pendants from cultural creatures and symbols. They are beautiful singers and dancers and love to sing along with the guitar (which most know how to play well).
There is so much more that I have not touched on here, but if you go to http://www.virtualoceania.net/newzealand/culture/maori/ or http://www.maoriculture.co.nz/ you will find out much more about these amazing people.

Could I wear white long sleeve at Target for work?
Could I wear a white long sleeve shirt with a red Target polo shirt over it? Would that be okay?
Yeah because I see them wearing that, also you can wear a red long sleeve shirt too. I think you can wear whatever you wants as long as it's red top and tan bottoms. I even saw a girl wearing a tan skirt working there.
