Princess party games: which‘re the best?
“Sleeping Princess” is a fun game and is similar to wink murder. The Court Jester is played by one of the girls. They have to leave the room. Upon each of the girls closing their eyes, you must touch one of the players on the shoulder. This player becomes the Evil Queen and the Court Jester comes back into the room. The Evil Queen’s mission is to wink at every player except for the Court Jester and not be seen to do so by the Court Jester. Every princess will lay down on the floor and fall asleep on the floor upon being winked at. The Court Jester must identify the Evil Queen in advance of all of the players becoming sleeping beauties. This is one of my daughters' favorite princess party games.
A game which is a real laugh is “Prince’s Crown”. A picture of a prince is attached to a wall. A bit of paper is given to each girl in turn when her eyes are covered. A picture of a crown is on the front and some sticky-gum is on the back. The prince’s crown has to be placed on his head by each girl in turn. The player who places it where it should be is the winner.
“Story Book” is good for parties with younger girls. Read the girls some stories about princesses after you have sat them all down. Check out the internet for ideas.
Older girls have fun with “Princess Idol”. Everyone have to act like a princess for a set period of time and compete against the performances of the others. Everyone is a judge and determines who the winner is.
“Princess Secret” is a guessing game in which every player puts a secret onto a piece of paper and places it into a hat so that no one else can see the secret. Each girl remove a secret from the hat, and the other players have to find out the secret through asking the secret-holder questions which the secret-holder can only answer “yes” or “no” to.
“Hide and Seek” is able to be adapted to be played outdoor and indoors, depending on whether you want people inside or outside. To give it a princess twist, get the girls to hide from the Evil Queen (who could be one of the players or you). If they are found, they become become evil (or lay down and fall asleep like sleeping beauty) and are required to find the other princesses. All players are able to become a good princess if all of the princesses are found. Young ladies love happy endings!
“Pass The Slipper” is a variation of pass the parcel. You could either use one of your everyday shoes, or use one of your older shoes and paint it to transform it into a princess’ slipper. Play tunes and get the girls to pass the slipper to the next person in the circle. When the ‘Evil Queen’(!) stops the music, the girl possessing the slipper gets a prize. The winner of the game is the girl who has won the most rounds.
Another game which can be changed to suit the princess theme is musical chairs (this becomes “Musical Thrones”). You could even decorate the chairs (or cushions) to match the rest of the party’s decorations. You will need one less seat than how many princess are taking part. The girls are required to act like princesses when the music is played. Upon the music stopping, each player has to sit on a seat. The music for the following round is controlled by the players who is not able to sit. On each round, one place to sit is removed.
A very suitable game for a princess themed party is “Musical Statues”. Each girl must pose like a princess when the music stops. If a girl moves, they have to sit out of the rest of the game. This continues until only one person remains.

Need help with RSVP phrase for grand daughter's princess party?
My grand daughter is having her 5th birthday. Theme is princess tea party. I would like to have an appropriate phrase to respond YES to RSVP invitation.
It is wonderful to see that John and Elizabeth Steadfast shall be attending Gloriana's party. I shall be there as well, dear boy! You know, the Nouveau Riches are quite good friends of yours truly, even if they are parvenus.
Now, to answer your question, "I shall be attending" will be quite sufficient dear girl. After all, it is not real Royalty, unless your granddaughter is a friend of Prince Edward's children?
